Atos  Research  &  Innovation  (ARI)  is  the  research,  development  and  innovation  hub  of  Atos  and  it  is  a  key  reference for the whole Atos group, delivering technology innovation to our customers.  With presence in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Santiago and Valladolid) and in Turkey (Istanbul), ARI is organized around technology laboratories dealing with social networking, trust, security, identity, semantics, media, services, GIS, and smart object technologies.

In  2001,  Atos  Research  &  Innovation  defined  a  line  of  activity  focused  on  the  use  of  ICTs  in  the  public  administrations. The Public Administration sector (PA) has now more than 10 years of experience in realizing R&D projects in order to support the public sector to automate administrative procedures and processes and to provide more efficient and effective public services to citizens and businesses, as well as to improve cross‐ organizational information flow, interoperability, processes and transparency. In this way, PA is specialized in:

  • The management of projects that involve R&D applied to public administration processes and services.
  • The  development  of  ICT  tools  that  implement  more  efficient  services  with  the  special  focus  on  interoperability and cross‐organizational flows.
  • The promotion of eGovernment in the public administration sector (e.g. training).
  • The dissemination of the latest R&D projects results to public administrations and policy makers.
  • The integration of research results into the public administration legacy systems.

Main role in the project:

Atos  is the  coordinator  of  the  RADICAL  project,  based  on  its  rich  experience  in  the  coordination  of  international collaborative projects. Atos will be the main integrator of the RADICAL project, as well as the lead partner for the setup, supervision and execution of the project’s living labs. RADICAL will lead the exploitation  and  business  planning  activities  of  the  project,  with  a  main  emphasis  on  the  sustainable/wider  use  of  the  RADICAL approach by multiple SMEs.
